Hello Handsome,

Alex Covert Mallonee is a Bay Area born, Los Angeles based director and producer. He received a BA in Film & Digital Media with an emphasis in Production from the University of California, Santa Cruz. 

His short films, Man’s Best Friend and Doodle, have screened at Oakland International Film Festival and Dan Savage’s Confinement Online Film Festival. Alex is currently in development on his first feature length film, part of the multimedia art project Deconstruction, about his late mother Joyce’s 25 year cancer journey. 

Alex has produced two feature length films: the music documentary, Do U Want It?, the winner of the Audience Award at the New Orleans Film Festival 2017, and the narrative drama, Bring me an Avocado, awarded Best Narrative Feature at the Covelite Film Festival 2018. 

An avid music fan, Alex has directed and produced videos for artists such indie rocker Alvvays, and his commercial portfolio includes works for brands such as Mercedes, Duraflame, and Credit Karma.
